We work as a team, sharing and discussing clients so that we may bring you the best overall Pilates experience possible.
Tracie Munn, Studio Director, General Movement Practitioner, Pilates Teacher, brings 17 years of Pilates experience and over 20
years of dance training to her teaching. She opened Anderson Pilates in 2002 to create a loving environment where any "body" could come and feel safe to learn movement. Tracie began pilates in 1989 as a form of cross-training for ballet. She was an original student of Brent Anderson PT (no relation)-founder of
Polestar Education and continued studying with Carol Amend who was a student of "Pilates Elder" Carola Trier.Tracie received a BFA in Dance from The University of Arizona in 1999.
In 2000 she sought out Carol Amend again and studied/apprenticed in Pilates and the AIM movement and teaching paradigm at Carol's studio Bodies Mind
in Mill Valley, CA, where Tracie also taught for several years. Tracie received Pilates Matwork certification from The Physical Mind
Institute that same year , and later in 2003, an additional full Pilates Certification from Long Beach Dance Conditioning. Formerly Director of Rehab
and Physiotherapy at Synergy Health Care, she has taught at dance,
Pilates, and Yoga studios throughout California and Arizona.
Tracie danced with The Sacramento Ballet and was on the
faculty of Ballet Arts, home of Ballet Tucson with whom she occasionally
performed. Tracie is also currently on the teaching staff at the Providence Institute. Besides teaching, Tracie loves spending time with her husband Chad, taking aireal dance classes and walking their dog Nikita. She thanks God for all the blessings and gifts in her life!
Brenda Lee Andreasen, Pilates Teacher, Brenda came to Pilates through her own need to relieve her back pain and gain flexibility and overall balance in her body. After a year and a half of practice, she decided to become a teacher and drove from Nebraska to Iowa for all of her trainings. Brenda became a STOTT certified teacher and has enjoyed continuing her education through various workshops. Brenda holds a BS in Biological Sciences from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. She is also an AFAA Primary Group Fitness Instructor, a Red Cross Lifeguard, and a University of Nebraska Challenge Course Instructor.
Brenda came to teach at Anderson Pilates in 2005 from Victory Pilates in Lincoln, NE where she had been teaching since 2003. Her bright energy has been well received at the studio. Brenda enjoys adventure racing, animals (she grew up on a farm), and singing in her car! Through teaching Pilates she “hopes to bring other people the knowledge and ability to improve their daily life. The understanding that it may take, baby steps to reach a goal, and that listening to your body with patience and a love of life will bring you more fulfillment in life.”
Jessica Galgiani, Pilates Teacher,a lifelong devotee of movement arts, Jessica began studying Pilates in 2001 with Tracie Munn as part of her ballet training with Ballet Tucson. She continued her study and became a certified Pilates teacher through Corinna Quintana of Lotus Pilates, Indiana, in the tradition of the Pilates Center of Boulder. While receiving her teacher training Jessica also attended Indiana University receiving a Bachelor of Science in both Ballet and Biology.
Through teaching Pilates Jessica wishes to "help others explore movement, developing an increased awareness of the body and strengthening newly discovered muscled and movement pathways to better support the body and help free the body aches and pains or restrictions of motion." She believes, as our studio does, that "people from all walks of life can benefit from a mind/body connection, and Pilates is a great tool for exploring the self!"
Casey Herdt, Pilates Teacher, A native Tucsonan, Casey returns to Anderson Pilates after teaching for two and a half years in Boston at Everybody Fitness. She began taking Pilates in 2002 with Tracie Munn and her aptitude for it was apparent from the start. Casey soon completed her first full Pilates certification through Long Beach Dance Conditioning and completed her student teaching at Anderson Pilates in 2003. She has since continued her study receiving certifications through the Physical Mind Institute, the Pilates Institute of America, and additional "classical Pilates" training through Everybody Fitness. Casey most recently completed a Prenatal Pilates speciality through Jennifer Gianni's Fusion Pilates.
Casey is a talented teacher with a knack for facilitating the client's experience of their body. "I enjoy helping clients discover teh power to change their body and their life through movement" she says. Casey is also a certified Aesthetician and makeup artist. Guess we know who to go to to help us look good!
Roxanne Suffecool , Pilates Teacher, On the recommendation of a friend who thought she might like it, Roxanne began studying Pilates with Ilona Martin in 1989. Martin, who had been worked on as an infant by Joseph Pilates himself, was her teacher for two years. Roxanne embraced the work and became a certified teacher through Body Works Studio completing Ron Fletcher Level I training. In 2003 Roxanne furthered her Pilates knowledge by completing another full Pilates certification through Long Beach Dance Conditioning: Advances in Pilates.
Roxanne holds a BA in Business Administration- specialty, accounting, from George Mason University. In addition to teaching two friends Pilates out of her home studio, you can often see Roxanne walking Sabino Canyon, hiking, or spending time with family and friends. We at the studio also love when she shares her other talent with us- baking!
Roxanne began teaching at Anderson Pilates in 2003 and has since developed a loyal following. Through her teaching she hopes to bring people “an appreciation and love for their individual body and mind and how fun Pilates movement can be for them.”
